This landscape features a community garden, innovative storm water design, and a xeriscape tree and plant collection. The site plan was developed to provide a large south-facing courtyard with adjoining community garden. The garden provides food for the shelter’s kitchen, and activities for residents. Parking areas and down spouts drain to bio-swales which utilitize rain and snow melt to irrigate planting areas.
